A few housekeeping notes to go over:
Travel Questionnaire
Once you register for the conference, you will receive a confirmation email that will include a link to a google form, which is our Travel Questionnaire.
We understand that some attendees, mainly those that are flying, may choose to fly into Halifax as opposed to Sydney to save on flight costs. We want to accommodate those who do so as much as we can!
PLEASE take a few minutes to fill out the questionnaire in as much detail as possible so we assist you in arranging possible carpool, car or bus rental options to ensure your travel to the conference is as painless as possible!
If possible, you have the option to fill out a single questionnaire for your entire station’s travel group. We highly encourage this option as it makes it easier to collect the info we need!
NOTE: When planning your travel, please leave a minimum of 5 hours to travel from Halifax to Sydney.
On a good day with less traffic it’s at least 4.5 hours from Halifax to Sydney.
Halifax Airport is about 20 minutes from downtown Halifax, so leaving from the Halifax Airport to Sydney saves a little time.
Early Bird Pricing & Other Discounts
Members who sign up before April 22nd will get 25$ off their registration costs! So the earlier you confirm the better!
First Time Attendee Discount:
Those wishing to attend who have not yet attended any previous NCRC or Station Manager Summits will get an extra 25$ off early bird pricing, for a total discount of 50$, if you register before April 22nd. First time attendees who sign up afterwards will only get 25$ off.

Speaker Discount:
Those who will be presenting or speaking at the conference will receive 50$ off their registration, regardless of when they register. Just email ncrc@ncra.ca for your discount code.
Pre-Conference Event In Halifax June 10th
We are currently coordinating a pre-conference event with CKDU on the evening before the Conference, June 10th, that would include a tour of their station, an Earshot! Distro info session and a gathering at Chain Yard Cider!
If you are interested, please indicate this in your response to the Travel Questionnaire, this will help us both plan better and be able to schedule potential accommodations in Halifax for those who attend. We are currently inquiring with Dalhousie University for possible accommodation for the night of the event
Senator Réjean Aucoin Confirmed As Keynote Speaker
We are pleased to announce that Réjean Aucoin will be one of this year’s keynote speakers!
He is a recognized leader in the Acadian community of Chéticamp and in the province of Nova Scotia. He has worked as a journalist, radio producer, writer, and community development officer.
His character-defining enthusiasm and convictions concerning the French-speaking Acadian community led him to found the Association des juristes d’expression française de la Nouvelle-Écosse in 1994 and is the founder and president of the Conseil économique de Chéticamp. Both organizations have fostered the development and vitality of the region’s Acadian community.
He has also served as vice-president of the Fédération des associations de juristes d’expression française de common law, vice-president of the Société nationale de l’Acadie, vice-president of the Fédération acadienne de la Nouvelle-Écosse, vice-president of the Community Radio Fund of Canada, and president of the Alliance des radios communautaires du Canada.
We hope you are excited as we are to welcome Mr. Aucoin to this year’s conference!

We have confirmed that our sessions will be held at the Membertou Trade & Convention Centre. For more details on the location please visit their website here.
Hampton Inn Sydney is our hotel partner for this year’s conference!
We have reserved a limited number of rooms at the Hampton Inn Sydney, which is right next door to the Membertou and is connected by a pedway! It will be available at a discount for attendees.
