Website Design & Database Manager (Grant Position)

The CFUV Website Design & Database Manager is a grant-funded position through the Digital Skills Youth Internship Program (DYIP). The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and redesign of CFUV’s website including integration of a digital playlist and logging system and music catalogue database.


Accountable to the Station Manager, the Website Design and Database Manager would also work in close consultation with the other CFUV staff to develop a new website and music database system. Specific duties may include:

· Completely redesign CFUV’s website with an emphasis on increasing visual clarity and accessibility

· Ensure the website design meets the branding requirements of the staton’s promotional plan and mandate

· Redesign the online Program Schedule and Listen On-Demand functions with an emphasis on increasing ease of navigation

· Ensure smooth integration of social media on the site, including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram

· Design a clear and prominent display of the weekly charts and upcoming scheduled programs

· Create a secure, simple and clear online music library interface for CFUV programmers

· Integrate a secure, browser-based paperless program and music log form and a website playlist display

· Other duties as required


Undergraduate, graduate degrees or diplomas in Computer Science and/or Graphic Design

· Experience in website design

· Experience in database construction

· Excellent communication skills, written and spoken

· Strong program management skills

· Able to work independently and within a team

· Ability to take direction and meet deadlines is essential

Additional Qualifications as per DYIP requirements:

· Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the time of placement

· A post-secondary graduate and can provide proof (2 years minimum) of college or university

· Unemployed or underemployed at the time of placement

· Can commit to a full time internship

· Canadian citizen, permanent resident or refugee under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act

· Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations

· Not in receipt of Employment Insurance (EI) benefits

· In need of assistance in order to overcome employment barriers


$16.00 per hour

Term of Employment: 35 hours per week. 16 week work term from August – November 20th, 2015.
